Operational activities at the McPherson Unit encompass a wide range of initiatives, including Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)/Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Programs, agriculture programs focusing on vegetable processing and gardening, Dance 2B Free, GED Program in collaboration with Arkansas State University, Hobby Craft, Prison Industry Enhancement (PIE) Industry, Library/Law Library services, Mental Health Groups, MIWATCH, Parenting programs, Quilts for Babies project, Recreational Programming, Regional Maintenance, Residential Program Unit, Sex Offender Female Treatment Program (SOFT), Story Book Project, Substance Abuse Therapeutic Community Program (TC), Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP), Think Legacy Program, and Vocational-Technical (Vo-Tech) programs in Cosmetology, Horticulture, Computerized Accounting, and Business Technology. These programs aim to support inmate rehabilitation, education, and skill acquisition.
