Cheshire CI is for State Prison offenders sentenced up to twelve months.
All prisons and jails have Security or Custody levels depending on the inmate’s classification, sentence, and criminal history. Please review the rules and regulations for State - maximum facility.

The inmates housed at Cheshire CI located at 900 Highland Ave in Cheshire, CT are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
CT DOC - Cheshire Correctional Institution - Inmate Programs
The Cheshire CI confines long-term, adult sentenced offenders. It also operates several specialized housing units, including protective custody and restrictive housing. The facility emphasizes rewards for deserving inmates via opportunities for bettering themselves by learning a trade through prison industries, educational programming, addiction service programming, and religious programming. The vocational education programs conduct dozens of projects assisting non-profit and community organizations, which include refurbishment and donation of bicycles to local elementary schools.

CT DOC - Cheshire Correctional Institution is a facility in the Connecticut Department of Corrections. The DOC publishes the names of their current inmates and identifies which of their locations the inmate is being held. Your search should start with the first DOC locator to see if your loved one is there. Begin with the first three letters of the offender's first and last name, it does not have to be spelled exactly.

As a last resort, you might have to pay for that information if we do not have it. The Arrest Record Search will cost you a small amount, but their data is the freshest available and for that reason, they charge to access it.

Connecticut Department of Correction will resume social visits effective 10/15/20. Please note that all visits will be non-contact until further notice and shall only include up to two (2) visitors. Offenders that are eligible for social visitation privileges shall be allowed no more than one (1), 30-minute visit per week, and only if facility scheduling capacity and operational needs can support the request. In order to maintain proper social distancing, all visits must be pre-scheduled due to limited occupancy. Cleaning and disinfecting measures have been put in place to ensure a safe visit.
Video Visitation is now available at Manson Youth Institute, Carl Robinson C.I., Brooklyn C.I., Osborn C.I., and York C.I., Garner C.I. and Cheshire C.I., New Haven C.C., Bridgeport C.C., Corrigan-Radgowski C.C., Hartford C.C., Northern C.I., and Willard-Cybulski C.I. will begin video visitation on 12/21/20.
