Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

The Appling Integrated Treatment Facility, constructed in 2003 and operational since 2006, serves as a pivotal institution in addressing the needs of adult male felons. With a capacity of 206 and a medium security level, the facility's primary mission is to combat chronic recidivism by addressing substance abuse and mental health concerns among probationers. Through its Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program, the facility aims to correct offenders' attitudes and motivations through intensive cognitive-behavioral therapy and mental health services.

The housing setup at the Appling Integrated Treatment Facility is designed to accommodate the unique needs of its population. Consisting of four dormitories, each housing 50 beds, the facility also includes four cells, two of which are equipped for double bunking, designated for isolation or segregation purposes.

The core of the facility's programming revolves around its Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program, which operates within an open dormitory setting. This program provides advanced cognitive-behavioral therapy specifically tailored to address substance abuse issues among high-risk, high-needs offenders with a history of substance abuse. In addition to substance abuse treatment, the facility offers a range of educational and vocational programs aimed at facilitating the rehabilitation and reintegration of its residents.

Academic programs include Adult Basic Education, Literacy Remedial Reading, and General Education Diploma Preparation, ensuring that inmates have the opportunity to improve their literacy and educational attainment. Counseling services, including the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) program, re-entry programs, mental health services, and general population counseling, aim to address the underlying issues contributing to criminal behavior and substance abuse.

In terms of vocational training, the facility offers a variety of opportunities, including barbering, custodial maintenance, food preparation, kitchen helper, baker, cook, groundskeeper, laundry, maintenance repair, building maintenance, career guidance technician, and general office clerk positions. These vocational programs not only equip inmates with valuable skills but also provide a pathway to employment upon re-entry into society.

Moreover, the facility recognizes the importance of recreational and religious activities in promoting holistic rehabilitation. General recreation activities offer inmates opportunities for physical exercise and leisure, while various worship services cater to their spiritual needs.

Overall, the Appling Integrated Treatment Facility is committed to providing comprehensive rehabilitation services that address the complex needs of its inmate population, with the ultimate goal of reducing recidivism and promoting successful reintegration into society.
