Located at 560 Correctional Dr in Pineville, KY, BCFC carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. BCFC offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

The BCFC is a minimum-security state prison institution situated in Bell County near Pineville, accommodating up to 300 male inmates since its establishment in 1962. Its primary function involves providing labor to the Division of Forestry for firefighting and fire break clearing, contributing to public safety efforts. Additionally, BCFC offers governmental services program work details for various city, county, and state agencies. Spread across approximately fifteen acres in rural Bell County, BCFC consists of fourteen buildings, including dormitories, administrative offices, educational facilities, medical services, recreational areas, and support infrastructure. The institution is equipped with essential amenities such as a water treatment plant and sewage treatment facilities to ensure the well-being of its inhabitants.

The dog program at the Forestry Camp, named "Second Chance Paws," is a collaboration with the Knox-Whitley Humane Association in Corbin, KY, aiming to provide dogs from crowded shelters with a fresh start. Through this program, selected dogs are paired with inmate handlers who teach them basic socialization and obedience skills over eight weeks. These skills include proper leash walking, interacting with different people, and general socialization, enhancing their adaptability. Moreover, the program offers inmates an opportunity to learn valuable life skills and the concept of second chances. For adoption inquiries, individuals can contact the Knox-Whitley Humane Society by phone during specified hours from Tuesday to Saturday. The humane society's contact number is (606) 526-5925, with office closure on Sundays and Mondays.
