Cape Vincent CF, situated in Jefferson County, falls under the jurisdiction of the New York State Department of Corrections. Primarily catering to males aged 16 and above, the facility serves a dual purpose as a general confinement center and an alcohol and substance abuse treatment facility. Additionally, it houses a 400-bed annex comprising dorms C, D, E, and F, which function as a correctional annex specifically for alcohol and substance abuse treatment.

With a capacity to accommodate around 900 inmates, Cape Vincent CF offers a range of vocational courses including building and custodial maintenance, horticulture, masonry, flooring, and painting. Moreover, inmates have access to alcohol and substance abuse treatment programs as well as sex offender counseling and treatment services, as mandated.

An integral component of the facility is its college program, which facilitates inmates in earning up to thirty credits through Jefferson Community College during their incarceration, fostering educational advancement and skill development.

Furthermore, Cape Vincent Correctional Facility operates a waste management program aimed at cost-saving measures. Inmates are actively involved in composting certain garbage items and recycling others, resulting in significant savings associated with waste removal, thereby contributing to the facility's operational efficiency.

Inmate Locator

CVCF maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.
