The short answer is that most of his personal information is protected by the same privacy laws that cover anyone outside these walls, and the facility is not obligated to share it with you. Disciplinary records, program participation, housing assignments, medical information, none of that is automatically available to a spouse or family member without the inmate's consent.
That said, there is one avenue worth trying, and tone is everything when you use it.
His counselor is the most accessible point of contact inside the facility and the person most likely to give you something useful if approached the right way. Counselors are not adversaries. Their job is to help inmates succeed, and a spouse who is genuinely invested in her husband's rehabilitation is exactly the kind of outside support system they want to see in place. If you call and come across as angry, demanding, or accusatory, you will get nothing. If you call with a calm, humble tone, express genuine interest in how he is doing and how you can support his programming, and ask thoughtfully whether there is anything you should know, you stand a much better chance of getting a real conversation.
You are not entitled to his disciplinary record, but a counselor who trusts your intentions might confirm whether there has been an infraction and give you a general sense of how he is doing. That is about as much as you can realistically hope for through official channels.
The most direct path to knowing what is going on with him is still the one that goes through him. Ask him directly on your next call or in a letter. His answer, or his avoidance of the question, will tell you more than the counselor will.
