Calcasieu Parish Prison - Work Release program provides a structured transition period for offenders returning to the community with the intent of better preparing them for a successful, crime-free life. Selection criteria include current and prior criminal behavior, institutional adjustment, and alcohol and chemical dependency history. The program contracts with public and private agencies for residential work release services. Programs provide structured living and close supervision and surveillance. You will not be able to effectuate their acceptance into this program.

Subject: Parole, probation & supervised release

The Parole Board has up to three decision options they can make at a Parole Hearing: Parole, Deferment or a Serve Out. A SERVE OUT is where the inmate is required to serve the sentence imposed by the Court, minus any statutory time and other credits received. There are no future parole hearings for those who are served out and the offender is released without supervision.
