Visitation Information - Eastern Shore Regional Jail General Visitation Visitors as well as inmates are required to follow certain rules established for visitation. A copy of the rules for visitation will be posted near the door to the visitation area. Any violation or disturbance which interferes with the operation of the jail during visitation times, will result in termination of visitation for that day. You might be eligible for marriage but it is far from a sure thing. NOt all facilities allow it, the ones that do have restrictions or ineligible situations. For instance, ICE detainees are not permitted to marry as it is considered a scheme to remain in this country, regardless of the true situation. Our best advice is to have your inmate speak with their case manager or counselor to see what steps are necessary to get married.

Inmates are able to seek medical attention for any ailment. If it is serious enough to impede their ability to walk, they are given permission to miss their work assignments and are seen by a specialist (available once per month or once per quarter).

Work release is different than the halfway house. Work release is when you live in the prison but take a bus (Mon - Fri) to a remote location where they work with civilians. When their work day is over, they return to the minimum security camp and sleep. The halfway house means "halfway between in prison and being released from prison." The halfway house is when the inmate is released into the community, they will live in the halfway house

The inmates are allowed commissary once a week. The larger ticket items like TVs take up a huge percentage of the monthly spending allowed, so they have six month periods where the inmate can "overspend" to get these more expensive purchases and still get regular commissary.

Without knowing what the charges are, we would say that if it was a violation that didn't cause a new charge to be added, the worst case would be that he does the balance of the original sentence at the original facility he was serving time. The alternative could be anything less than that incrementally - maybe light time served?

It could be months, getting an approved housing situation must happen before the Board would consider a release. There has to be a place for this parolee to live - that the parole office knows about and finds it acceptable. She could get denied and you will have to go through the approval process again. We are not trying to be negative towards the release, but we've seen it happen where you think they are coming and it's months before
