Located at 9111 NE Sunderland Ave in Portland, OR, CRCI carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. CRCI offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

CRCI is a minimum-security prison located in NE Portland on 26 acres. It opened in September 1990 and houses 595 male inmates in separate dorm-style housing units. About 50 inmates reside in a dedicated living area focused on alcohol and drug treatment, where they voluntarily participate in a therapeutic community program. The facility prioritizes alcohol and drug treatment, work programs, and preparing inmates for reintegration into the community.

One of the dormitories, with 50 beds, serves as a residential treatment center where inmates engage in an intensive alcohol and drug treatment program lasting six months or more. This unit is self-contained to allow those in treatment to focus without distractions. Other programs at CRCI emphasize developing work habits and skills essential for employment.

Programs and services at CRCI include community service projects supervised by staff, institution support work, educational classes, cognitive skills training, and the Turning Point drug and alcohol program. Inmates are encouraged to participate in daily recreational and outdoor activities to promote their health and well-being. They have access to the Recreation Yard three times a day for various recreational purposes.

Outdoor activities include soccer, basketball, volleyball, pickle-ball, Native American pow-wows, and special holiday events. Individual outdoor activities like weightlifting, jogging, and hacky-sack are also available. Indoor activities feature aerobics, yoga, stationary bicycles, bingo, karaoke, and numerous board games and other indoor games.

Religious services are also provided to meet the spiritual needs of inmates.

Inmate Locator

CRCI maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.
