There is a little of both in there. There is no A/C, that is true and the state issued clothing is also true. Depending on how much money he has received on his commissary account will determine what the state will give him in the way of toiletries. The inmates with no money on their book DEFINITELY get the basic supplies. Inmates with money on their books are able to buy their own personal, upgraded brand name hygiene supplies.

Subject: Sentencing questions

The time served is normally 85% of the sentence imposed. First time offenders are treated the same as most other offenders, but in this case a probation violation might yield him some earlier release if he is a model inmate but do not rely on this suggestion. "Might" means if there is overcrowding and he is not getting incident reports, etc they could let him go before the 85% but we would treat this like a 10 1/2 month sentence and be surprised

CMCF is located on 171 acres and includes thirteen housing units with a capacity of 3,557 beds.  Offenders sentenced to the Mississippi Department of Corrections are brought to CMCF where they are processed through the Receiving and Classification unit.   Every level of custody is represented and depending on where your inmate is designated (and a year sentence is usually minimum or low unless the inmate has violence in their history), you will relaxed visitation, not through a glass divider.

Most facilities do not offer the release dates online. If the inmate is unaware of their own release date, then you might call the counselor there and politely ask. They might help you with that information.

Inmates don’t usually serve the entire sentence handed down by a court. Most can and do have their time shortened by as much as a third. Of those released last year and eligible for that 33 percent time off, more than 59 percent received the full reduction. At least 29 states offer “good time” for following the rules, which is granted when the inmate reports (that is 15%).  And at least 31 states offer “earned time” for attending classes, treatment, work

The beds are a blue paper-thin foam mattresses that are laid atop mental bed frames. They are not soft to sleep on as you feel the hard metal immediately upon laying down. There is nothing "soft" about time on the inside.
