You will need to obtain a Marriage License from the county recorder's office. For incarcerated persons, they will not be in a position to appear before the county recorder to apply with you for the marriage license. Instead, the inmate will need to sign a form called “Affidavit of Inability to Appear." This Inability to Appear form must be notarized. There are costs associated with these functions, we do not know what they are.

No, the facilities do not notify us when the recipients actually get the mail handed to them. We only know if it is returned. In that event, we investigate the reason for the return and most often it's either a missing inmate ID number or the wrong facility chosen when the inmate profile is made. Be patient, there are delays for all correspondence in these facilities that we have no control over.

Calcasieu Parish Prison - Work Release program provides a structured transition period for offenders returning to the community with the intent of better preparing them for a successful, crime-free life. Selection criteria include current and prior criminal behavior, institutional adjustment, and alcohol and chemical dependency history. The program contracts with public and private agencies for residential work release services. Programs provide structured living and close supervision and surveillance. You will not be able to effectuate their acceptance into this program.
