Each partner must be legally eligible and mentally competent to marry. Marriages may be blocked for security or disciplinary reasons; solitary confinement can block access to marriage. To communicate with your inmate, you can write letters or send photos - you will have to go to your My Account area and click on the "Inmate Pages" and then click "Letters". You will be able to communicate to them through there. InmateAid syncs up the information on the inmate's page and the prison page that you selected as where they are incarcerated.

Most locations do not limit the number of books or magazines an inmate may receive. As long as you are using the Amazon corporate website purchase and not one of their third-party affiliate sellers. They are mixed in the site offering lower priced used books that will definitely get rejected. Amazon can get the paperback books delivered because they are a recognized "publisher".

Call the facility and ask to speak with the case manager, unit secretary, or chaplain. They can confirm the inmate is safe. For an elderly inmate with no phone privileges, a direct call is the fastest way to get a welfare check from the outside. When you call, explain that you are an immediate family member, that contact has been uncharacteristically absent this month, and that you are simply asking for a general welfare confirmation, not detailed case information.
