It is pretty good for state prison, although it is best to never get sick while incarcerated as the output is minimal. There is a nurse on staff 24/7, inmates can put in for a doctor visit but might have to pay a small amount from their commissary account as a co-pay.

Please keep in mind that the staff opens and reads each piece of mail before deciding whether to hand it out or return it. There is definitely a censorship element to the mail, but usually the sender is of no consequence unless something arises in the content of the letter.
