They should be in the system. Even released inmates are in the BOP Locator. The only time they are not in there is if they go into protective custody or WITSEC. If that is the case, you will not be able to find them.

Commissary is available to inmates, once a week. The only expenses an inmate has is commissary and telephone. There is a limit on the amount that can be spent on commissary in a given week or month depending where they are incarcerated. Be mindful that since inmates have a lot of time on their hands, they become very good at tearing at the heartstrings of the loved ones on the outside who are worried about inmate's well-being. 50-50 chance. The normal protocol is to send it back if it is missing the inmate ID number. But, there are some staff members with some sense of humanity and they will pass the mail on through. It depends on the mail room personnel.

We estimate that it takes 2-3 business days to make it to the jail. Once there, the staff opens and reads each piece of mail and inspects it for contraband. Any delay that occurs at the facility is out of our control. Many of our members use the Inmate Response Mail service through InmateAid. Your inmate would write you back to the return address on the letters which are to the InmateAid corporate offices in Florida. We receive the letters on your behalf, scan them into your My Account section and notify you by email that they are waiting for your review. There is a charge of $1.49 for this service.
