He caught a charge, then got bail, then got caught stealing a car? We don't know what the first charge was so it makes guessing harder. Plus we need to know is past criminal history and if he's been in before. There are several determinates that make up the sentence. Just a guess, if there are no priors... 2-3 years

Most facilities take MoneyGram. Click and check the list of facilities where MoneyGram is accepted. When searching, keep in mind that there are 200 federal facilities but the User goes to one place for all, "FEDERAL BUREAU OF PRISONS (7932)" on their site. Same with state prison systems. For instance, one state system looks like this:  IOWA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS (6185). Find your inmate's facility and you'll be able to get money to them instantly.

Normally, the probation violation time must be served in the jurisdiction where the sentence was imposed. If this is a state charge in Louisiana, we highly doubt that a transfer would be granted. They are different systems with different regulations. And, violators are not typically granted any favors since they could not do the probation time without getting into trouble. It is a good sign when an inmate's custody level is reduced. It means that the sentence is getting shorter and the inmate's behavior and programming has been exemplary. The system is saying they trust this person more than when they began their sentence. The inmate gets more freedom in the new setting, more privileges (and in prison, it means a lot).

This depends on the conditions of his release. If there is a parole or probation, then YES he will have to begin his re-entry in the county where he was convicted. He can apply to move - the only way this happens is if the arresting county agrees to the transfer based on JOB, HOUSING and GENERAL ATTITUDE.
