Lot of inmates do their bid all alone. No one to call, to write, or visit them. The criteria is that they are property of the state or the United States (in federal). The staff isn't interested in the mudane social life of a con, the COs don't work that hard. Reading profiles would be over and above their job description.

Phone numbers have to be approved in some facilities. If you have been approved but changed your number, you are STILL approved, the number has nothing to do with it (unless they have a number change restriction which could be as much as six months). Our advice is to call a counselor at the facility and politely ask for their guidance.
